This shop is an absolute gem! The owner, Bucks, has created a treasure trove of vintage records, along with a great selection of CDs, cassettes, books and collectibles, in an amazing little space on Garland Road. He is an awesome individual, full of knowledge, interesting stories, and friendliness. If for some insane reason you can’t find what you want in his massive collection, he will tell you where you can. Every inch of this store is packed with incredible finds! I cannot praise this place enough. Looking forward to going back again and again!

The owner was fantastic and AMAZING at helping and letting me browse all the selections of vinyls that he had. He was great and more than accommodating, even playing/demoing SO MANY of the records that I wanted to listen to (most stores won’t let you listen to them in person like this!). I ended up spending about two hours here and wish I spent more learning about the various artists and stories that he had to share. He is very knowledgeable in what he does and takes great care of the collection there. He is at the store sometimes past what normal “closing” hours are considered, so it’s great if your schedule or time doesn’t permit you to come in early in the day. I recommend whole-heartedly to check out the store and see what’s there! I went way past my budget but am so thrilled with the vinyls I could add to my personal stockpile. Take the time to sort through the sections there! I’m sure you’ll find something new to listen to and take home! I will definitely be a returning customer also because of the amazing service!

I love this little record store. It’s a great place to spend time and money looking at all the records available. The owner is very cool and laid back has great prices on his merchandise and is very knowledgeable about music without being pretentious about music. If your looking for a good mom and pop record shop with a wide selection and comfy ambiance look no further. This will be your new stop for great records and price.

Initially I thought it was another overpriced record store. I was wrong. Each record I have purchased plays beautifully. There I have found records I enjoy that cost as little as $5, to up to my limit of $20. Considering the small size of the store, there are lots of records and neat things to look at. The owner is pleasant, and welcomes questions and does not take offense to REASONABLE offers. For those who really prefer the quality of vinyl the prices are fair. Then go have a piece of pie a few doors down.

14 Records is an outstanding shop, offering a world of rare vinyl, collectibles, and a kind of magical environment cultivated by the proprietor, Bucks Burnett. It’s close to several quality East Dallas eateries so you can grab a bite and pick up some records. As a master curator, Bucks culls some truly remarkable records, promo art, cassettes, and so much more. 14 Records has existed in many forms at many addresses for many years- you should catch it at its present location. Ask Bucks about The Boxler Letters! He is also perhaps the world’s best authority on Tiny Time and the founder of EdStock, the erstwhile Mr. Ed Film Festival. Drop by and be amazed!

HISTORY OF 14 RECORDS
14 Records opened on September 1, 1988 originally in Denton, Texas.
The store relocated to Dallas, opening September 1, 1991 on lower Greenville Ave.
Due to the increased demand for CD’s and the general disinterest in the LP format, a dark spell which lasted from 1990-2005, owner Bucks Burnett decided to close the store and did so on September 1, 1995. On his last day of business he was still purchasing records ‘just in case.’
On April 1, 2017, Bucks reopened 14 Records in Dallas on Garland Rd. The store is doing well and Burnett recently renewed his lease into early 2025. The store is named after a song Bucks wrote called “Fourteen” which was recorded by Tiny Tim With Brave Combo.
